American Journalism Review
American Journalism Review, published six times a year by the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, covers print, television, radio and online media.

American Press Institute
Founded by newspaper publishers in 1946, the American Press Institute is the oldest and largest center devoted solely to training and professional development for the news industry and journalism educators.

American Society of Newspaper Editors
The American Society of Newspaper Editors is the leading organization of daily newspaper editors in the Americas. It is primarily an organization for its members to share ideas. It also carries on a variety of programs, projects and initiatives for the good of journalism through its committees. Its leaders include editors from newspapers of all sizes.

Asian American Journalists Association
Our mission is three-fold: 1) To encourage Asian Pacific Americans to enter the ranks of journalism, 2) To work for fair and accurate coverage of Asian Pacific Americans, and 3) To increase the number of Asian Pacific American journalists and news managers in the industry.

Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication
AEJMC is an international association of some 3,300 journalism/mass communication faculty, students, administrators, and professionals. AEJMC's members come from more than 30 countries, with the majority working in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1912, AEJMC is the oldest and largest association of journalism and mass communication educators and administrators at the college level.

Association for Women Journalists
The Association for Women Journalists, Chicago Chapter, is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization founded in Chicago in 1993. Chicago's chapter was born from the first AWJ chapter in Dallas-Ft. Worth, which was founded in 1988. The group is dedicated to supporting women in print and broadcast journalism and promoting the respectful treatment of women by the news media. There are seven AWJ chapters across the country, and we continue to grow.

Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism
The center, funded by the Reynolds Foundation of Nevada, organizes seminars, workshops, briefing materials and other educational programs for journalists around the country.

International Center for Journalists
ICFJ believes that a vigorous, independent press is one of the most powerful weapons available in the struggle for freedom and civil rights. We believe that working with our colleagues overseas--providing journalistic, media management and technical expertise as well as information and support services--is critical to the development of an effective, independent press that is ethically grounded and financially stable.

Internet Press Guild
The Internet Press Guild is a nonprofit organization promoting excellence in journalism about the Internet, online services, and bulletin board systems. The Guild's Web site is an information clearinghouse for reporters who wish to know more about aspects of the online world, such as the World Wide Web.

Investigative Reporters and Editors
Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of investigative reporting within the field of journalists. IRE was form in 1975 with the intent of creating a networking tool and forum in which journalists from across the country could raise questions and exchange ideas.

Journalism and Women Symposium
We are Pulitzer Prize winners and toilers in the most obscure outposts of American journalism. We are just out of college and we are in our seventh decade and still working for truth and justice. We have been celebrated and dismissed, patronized and powerful, out of work and in the most wonderful job in the world.

National Association of Black Journalists
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is an organization of journalists, students and media-related professionals that provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.

National Association of Hispanic Journalists
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) is dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry. Established in April 1984, NAHJ created a national voice and unified vision for all Hispanic journalists.

National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting
NICAR is a program of Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc. and the Missouri School of Journalism. Founded in 1989, NICAR has trained thousands of journalists in the practical skills of finding, prying loose and analyzing electronic information.

National Press Foundation
The National Press Foundation is the nation's premier organization offering issue-oriented professional development programs and awards for journalists. It was established by distinguished journalists and communicators in 1975 and merged with the Washington Journalism Center in 1993.

New York Financial Writers Association
The New York Financial Writers' Association is the nation's oldest and largest organization devoted to business and financial journalism. We hope our new and much improved web site will help to better serve the community and become a central place for finding a job, discussing current issues facing our profession, learning new skills and last but not least, have fun.

Native American Journalists Association
NAJA recognizes Native Americans as distinct peoples based on tradition and culture. In this spirit, NAJA educates and unifies its membership through journalism programs that promote diversity and defends challenges to free press, speech and expression. NAJA is committed to increase the representation of Native journalists in mainstream media. NAJA encourages both mainstream and tribal media to attain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and responsibility.

Radio-Television News Directors Association
The Radio-Television News Directors Association is the world's largest professional organization devoted exclusively to electronic journalism. RTNDA represents local and network news executives in broadcasting, cable and other electronic media in more than 30 countries.

Society of Environmental Journalists
SEJ programs are designed to build a stronger, better-educated, and more closely connected network of professional journalists and editors who cover the environment and environment-related issues. SEJ's primary goal is to advance public understanding of critically important environmental issues through more and better environmental journalism.

Society of Professional Journalists
The Society of Professional Journalists is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of our nation and our liberty. To ensure that the concept of self-government outlined by the U.S. constitution remains a reality into future centuries, the American people must be well informed in order to make decisions regarding their lives, and their local and national communities.

The Center for Environmental Journalism
The Center for Environmental Journalism (CEJ) was established in 1992 by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Colorado at Boulder to help bridge this gap. The CEJ seeks to enrich public understanding of environmental issues by elevating the quality of media coverage. It offers a variety of programs that will help both journalists and future journalists enhance their knowledge and expertise. The programs focus on professional development, student education and communication with scientists and the public.

The Freedom Forum
The Freedom Forum is a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. The foundation focuses on three main priorities: the Newseum, First Amendment freedoms and newsroom diversity.

The Fund for Investigative Journalism
The Fund for Investigative Journalism gives grants, ranging from $500 to $10,000, to reporters working outside the protection and backing of major news organizations. These grants are limited to journalists seeking help for investigative pieces involving corruption, malfeasance, incompetence and societal ills in general as well as for media criticism.

The Journalist's Toolbox
The Journalist's Toolbox features more than 11,500 Web sites helpful to the media and anyone else doing research. Use the pulldown menu or search engine to locate information from a variety of beats and news industry-related topics.

The Society for News Design
Formerly the Society of Newspaper Design) is an international, non-profit and professional organization with more than 2,500 members in the United States, Canada and 50 other countries, divided into 19 regions. Our membership is comprised of editors, designers, graphic artists, publishers, illustrators, art directors, photographers, advertising artists, website designers, students and faculty. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in journalism and design.
